You can come up with your own playlist of favorite songs, romantic songs, songs that remind you of each other, and more. It’s up to you. Just pay attention to what you choose to use to play them and be mindful of where the volume is set. Having the police knocking on the door because someone made a noise complaint will probably throw a small wrench in your evening. 

Dress Up Your Hot Tub

If you have a hot tub in your yard, you already have the makings of a perfect romantic evening. Dressing it up for Valentine’s Day won’t take much work (provided you’ve been regularly caring for and maintaining it already). Floating candles can be a great touch. Drop a few rose petals into the water or create a trail of them along the pathway leading up to it. You could even elevate the experience with some romantic aromatherapy. Essential oils like ylang ylang, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, jasmine, and neroli can be great for setting a romantic mood.

Warm Up by the Fire Pit

The hot tub should be nice and warm, but it’s still February, and the warm water can make the outside air feel a little more brisk than it otherwise would. If you have a fire pit, take some time to get cozy by your fire pit after drying off. This can be a great chance to feed each other favorite Valentine’s Day snacks, exchange gifts, and reminisce about your favorite memories as a couple.

When it comes to turning your yard into the perfect romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day, the keys to success will be to cater to both the senses and your loved one’s preferences. Be sure to take lighting into account too. It won’t be as enjoyable if you aren’t able to see one another, after all.
